Steven Julius: Reflection
This project was very interesting. In class we learned a lot about a variety of protest strategies and events. But this project let us delve deeper into a specific type of protest which I thought was beneficial. I enjoyed the information I researched and the event I covered. It was a surprise to me there were this many types of protest and just how far some people would go to support their stances on certain subjects. I really enjoyed this project.
Mitchell Hudlin: Reflection
I personally enjoyed this project, I really liked how it was set up by choosing different general topics for each group. Also, the fact that once we were able to decide on what topic to do, that we could individually find a group/person that was effected by the topic. I enjoyed what I had researched, and to truly find out what went on behind the scenes of the Vietnam war on the streets and how crazy it actually ended up was pretty interesting. I had to dig deep to find my information on my event because it wasn't a popular event or something that would stand out to people, so it did take time to find a little information. Overall, this project really challenged me to research a lot with an unheard of topic and I can say I learned a lot.
Joe Dolciotto: Reflection
Making a website forces you to absorbed the information you are putting onto each page. That is why this form of project is surely exceptional. I focused my time on the group, Vietnam Veterans against War, and learned an immense amount of knowledge on the subject. To begin with, I truly thought that only Vietnam veterans were allowed into the protest group. This was not the case. The group ended up being extemely influential in the late 60's, early 70's. I had no idea John Kerry made such a profound speech for the group. I had no idea about the Winter Soldier Investigation involving the illegal crimes of American soldiers in Vietnam. Overall, this was a excellent project choice.
